Evaluating the Powder Room
In most homes the powder bath is the main guest bathroom. Because it is a room that nearly every guest to the home will visit, it makes perfect sense to upgrade the finishes. In fact, some homeowners prefer spending more of their remodeling budget in the powder room than they do in the master bath; after all, guests do not generally visit their private spaces.
Not all powder rooms are guest baths, however. Some half baths are located very near the garage or family entry of the home. Depending upon the lifestyle of the family, this room may get very heavy traffic. Grease from car repairs or dirt from a gardening project may be brought in when the homeowner comes in to wash up from a day in the garage or yard.
